About Hillary >
Hillary (she/her) is dedicated to helping young Black people discover their histories of resilience and brilliance along with the historical causes of the racial disparities they see around them. A descendent of enslaved Africans, she was outraged by her own lack of education on these topics. She is now working to make the history of race and racism in the United States a core part of the American curriculum.
Hillary has worked in education in Connecticut for the past 6 years. While in high school Hillary co-founded the African Education Program, a non-profit dedicated to helping improve educational opportunities in Zambia. She was a John B. Ervin Scholar at Washington University in St. Louis, a Danish Government Scholar at the University of Copenhagen, and a 2014 & 2016 Scholar at The Nantucket Project. Hillary serves on the interim board of the CT Bail Fund.
